Chubby’s life path has been anything but typical, marching always to the beat of a different drummer. But it DID start out...typical. As a degreed accountant, he spent 15 years in that profession, living in Ohio and then North Carolina....but always longing to be in the music world. In 1989, he founded Chubby’s Karaoke in Charlotte as a part-time business. 1994 saw Chubby permanently leaving the accounting profession to become the Product Line Manager for Sound Choice, helping to design, launch and market the most successful karaoke software line in US history. In 1997, Chubby departed Sound Choice to increase his mobile karaoke business, eventually building up to a weekly schedule of 17 karaoke shows. Riding that success and being a risk taker, Chubby expanded his entertainment business and personal life to Cancun, Mexico in 2001. That successful endeavor kept him there until 2019. While in Cancun, Chubby had some other unique experiences, including being a pastor for beach weddings and vow renewals and a “special guest referee for lucha libre” (professional Mexican wrestling). Along the way in Mexico, Chubby also had 3 years of being a LIVE medical presenter for DZLogic, a company that specializes in restoring the body’s “internal physical balance”.
So how did he get to The Villages from Cancun, Mexico? Another interesting story. While in Cancun, in 2015, he met Jude Hamilton (she was in Charlotte) on one of those dating sites. One thing led to another, they fell in love. Jude sold her house in Charlotte, Chubby moved from Cancun and they looked for a new place to live. After a few visits to other areas, they fell in love with The Villages “lifestyle” and bought a house in late 2019. And then another unlike turn of events...they decided to become Florida Realtors in May, 2021 (Jude was previously a Realtor in NC). You might also see Chubby doing entertainment in and around The Villages. He just couldn’t possibly walk away from doing that!
Chubby has 2 sons and they both live in the Charlotte, NC area, along with their wives and 3 children.
| Jude graduated with her Masters Degree from WVU in 1989 and moved to Charlotte, NC to start her career as a psychologist with the public school system there. She obtained her Educational Specialist Degree from UNC and continued with the school system for 28 years along with a private testing practice. In 2008, Jude obtained her NC Real Estate license and planned to pursue this full time upon retirement.
Life made a few changes with the plan in 2015, however, when she met Chubby. They eventually settled in The Villages and love Florida, the lifestyle and their forever friends. As Jude likes to say... “No one is from TV and everyone has a story”! Jude and Chubby obtained their Florida Real Estate license in May, 2021 and have become successful in sharing the lifestyle with future residents. In addition, Jude is a certified home stager with Home Staging Institute which can help get your home ready for the market!
Jude has one daughter, Bailey, who lives and works in Virginia as a school psychologist just like Mom! They have the best dog in the world, Luna, and a music garage that they’re happy to share for some fun videos, karaoke and dancing.
