GE Supra eKEY Tips
Have proper device listed
Make sure you have the correct device listed on Supra?s website. If you have changed from a Treo 650 to a Treo 755 you now have 4 times the memory which Supra considers when allowing the total number of listings you can download.
Updating eKEY
Remember you have 4 ways to update your eKEY, automatically while you sleep, manually by pushing a button and calling Kim. Folks forget you can also pick up an update code my logging on to Kim and getting code.
Find who opened your Lockbox
On Kim web you will see ?Identify Keyholder? and you can enter the key number if for some reason the user name does not appear.
Register your Lockboxes
The backbone of the GE Supra system is you the agent registering your Lockbox not only to you but the listing. You need to know 3 things, the serial number and shackle code then you can enter the MLS number. By doing this you now open up Showing Value to get the most out of the system.
Learn Showing Value
If you?re looking for a competitive advantage in your area learn all you can about Showing Value and use it weekly. Agents around the country are sending seller?s information on activity by agents weekly. Look where you have been also and develop better tracking of where and who you showed listings.
Latest version of eKEY
Be sure your device has the latest version of software offered from GE Supra. Palm OS open your eDATA program and hit the menu to see what version you are operating. Windows it shows the version when you first open the Supra screen. Check on the website under download applications to see what is offered
eSYNC problems
When it works it?s great, when it doesn?t what a pain. Many folks have to move the device to a certain room or wait until they get outside the home to update. If that is the case then you can go to eSYNC and disable the automatic under settings and wait until your in tower range to update. This also works great if you disturb the person you are sleeping with.
Bright Sunlight
If the sun is shining directly on the IR eye on the front of the box then you need to create shade. Use your hand your body or something and the box should talk to your device. If the eye is covered with dirt, grim or a film of unknown stuff then clean it.
Copy Agent feedback to Memo Pad
Want an easy way to track showings for buyers? With your eKey, every time you ?Obtain Key? a minute or so later a report pops up, ?Agent Feedback?. It?s a great time saver to take a few moments and fill it out so you don?t need to contact the listing agent, completing this can be to your advantage also! Each of those completed feedbacks can be copied to your Palm ?Memo Pad?. Once you have them in the ?Memo Pad? you can edit them by expanding on your comments, making sure you either have the address or MLS number for quick reference. Here is where your contact management system can help you track which listings you have shown. Have the completed feedback form open on your eKey, tap on the scroll down key located below your little house, the scroll down screen asks ?copy feedback?, tap on it, a screen opens and says, ?The feedback has been copied to your ?Memo Pad? would you like to exist and open "Memo Pad?. If you click yes you will see it in your "Memo Pad". You now have two choices; to either move the feedback into a category in the "Memo Pad" or hotsync and copy and paste into your contact management system. I like putting it in the Palm, this way it is with you at all times.
Copy listing to Memo
Once you have selected a listing and have the 25 plus fields displayed on your eKey, tap the scroll down key located below the little house. The scroll down screen has ?copy to memo pad?. This will move the listing to your Memo Pad and now you can delete certain lines, beam it or Hotsync it to your computer where you can copy and paste to your contact management software or anywhere in your computer.
You can email a listing from your Supra eData listings
After you have set up your ?Client Searches?, also called saved searches you can email listing to your prospects if you are using a Smart phone with data services. Any listing in your eData can be copied to your ?Memo Pad? of the Palm, once there you can edit, delete any information you do not want the potential buyer seeing and pick it up as an attachment to an email or copy and paste into the body of the email. To keep track of what you do on the ?fly?, Bcc or CC yourself so you can keep track in your contact management system. This is not a good idea if you are sitting in front of your computer and could send from your MLS a much nicer presentation, but the entire idea of the Smart phones is to cut the wires on your desk and computer and work from anywhere. Hey if you want to try this, send me one!
